Aww… The smell of a newly born baby!

This weekend we finally held Chris & Christy’s baby and the feeling was awesome! Christy is the daughter of my dear friend from college, Carolyn.

Since 1984, Carolyn and I have celebrated many occasions… We have laughed, cried, prayed, pranked, mourned, danced, and cheered each other on!

Our most recent celebration was supposed to be 6 plus weeks before her youngest daughter delivered her first child. (Carolyn’s 4^th grandbaby.) God had other plans…

Three days before the shower, Carolyn and I were texting when there was a pause to our fast-paced text-athon. The next text was “Christy’s water broke!” It was time to pray.

James Christopher came into this world and the NIC unit became his home for 4 weeks. Many prayers along with sleepless nights and tears followed with hope for this little fighter. During that time both Chris & Christy learned how painful parenting can be and the importance of remaining focused on the prize.

On Saturday, 9/28/19, we all came together to celebrate this beautiful child. Sweet Baby James was the center of attention and I could not get enough of the joy that filled the room.
