Happy Sunday!

I am in my glory, surrounded by my beautiful children and grandchildren.

To use a Dr. Gary Chapman expression from his book, The 5 Love Languages…  This weekend has filled my “love bucket,” and I do not want to spend a single minute away from the McDermott, Elwell, and Bennett clan. My cup runneth over!

It is a new week and here is what’s happening on

The Lillian McDermott Radio Show!

Monday, 8-27-18 ~ Autoimmune diseases are among the most prevalent forms of chronic illness in this country affecting over 23.5 million Americans. Have you been told you have an autoimmune disorder? The author of The Immune System Recovery Plan and founder of The Blum Center for Health, Dr. Susan Blum, will share how we can reverse any autoimmune disease in 4 steps: using food as medicine, understanding the stress connection, healing the gut, and supporting the liver. I will be taking lots of notes!

Tuesday, 8-28-18 ~ I once heard Dr. Wayne Dyer say, “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Sometimes we get stuck in our perceptions and that takes away from the growth we can experience when we walk in another person’s shoes. I will share how a change of perspective could set us free.

Wednesday, 8-29-18 ~ Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., MD, was featured in the documentary, Forks Over Knives. This documentary changed the way I view my responsibility for my health and nutrition. For over 23 years, Dr. Esselstyn has worked with people who were sent home to die from heart disease and he has given them hope and a new outlook on life. Dr. Esselstyn is a mentor to many Whole Food Plant-Based physicians who have been on my show. He has lovingly traded his scalpel for sprouts. I am thrilled he is back to mentor us. (Aired 9-1-17)

Thursday, 8-30-18 ~ Would you consider reducing your meat intake? World-renowned New York Times bestselling author, professor, researcher, activist, and musician, Dr. Neal Barnard, will share tips on how to embrace a more whole food plant-based diet!

Friday, 8-31-18 ~ Who remembers the song by Sister Hazel, “All For You”?  I grew up listening to this band. All those memories came flooding back when we were able to attend their charity concert at The Coalition for the Homeless’ “Hearts of Gold” benefit! This platinum selling band, Sister Hazel, originated in our very own back yard in Gainesville, FL. Ken Block, lead singer, will share how Sister Hazel has endured 25 years of music, relationships, and how they continue to make a difference in the world today.

Saturday, 9-1-18 ~ You may have heard of “David vs. Goliath” but have you heard of Bennet vs. The NFL?  The movie Concussion, with Will Smith, is based on the coroner for Mike Webster, center for The Pittsburgh Steelers. During Mike Webster’s autopsy, Bennet Omalu, MD, MBA, MPH, CPE, DABP-AP,CP,FP,NP discovered why many NFL players were becoming violent and committing suicide. Dr. Omalu will share how he discovered the potential cause… Chronic TraumaticEncephalopathy and what we can do to avoid Brain Damage in Contact Sports.

It is a busy week and I hope you will set your reminder to meet me on the air…  Let’s all listen & learn together!
