Happy Sunday! 

At the end of this week, we will be stepping into May. I keep asking the same question. Yet for some reason I am not open to receiving the answer… where has the time gone?

May is a very special month and truly dear to my heart. I was born on May 14th. And many years later, on that very same date, The Lillian McDermott Radio Show was born. I now lovingly call it The Classroom. Who knew that one simple 30-minute interview would change my life in so many extraordinary ways?

May symbolizes not only the beginning of my life, but also the transformation of a life I could never have planned for myself. Why do I say that? Because 20 years ago, I thought I had everything figured out. I was healthy, had wonderful children, a beautiful home, and a strong faith community. Then Robert and I moved to Brevard County. From there, life began to change in ways I never expected.

Soon after, the housing crisis impacted us financially. And our youngest child graduated from high school, which caused me to question my identity. Then the radio show began and through it, God revealed an entirely new path for my life. A path that required reflection, courage, and trust.

I am grateful for every gift and every lesson. But most of all, I am grateful for finding my true self… discovering my essence… uncovering the part of me that no longer needs to hide emotions or wear a mask. Today, I feel comfortable being who I am and allowing others to see the real me.

Because of this journey, and my willingness to rely on God every step along the way, I have found peace, even in the storms. Don’t get me wrong… I still resist “the process” at times. But God lovingly reminds me to Trust the Process and peace returns.

As we enter the month of May, I want to encourage you to:

  • Search within and find the God in you
  • Release emotions that are holding you back
  • Face your fears with curiosity
  • Discover the beauty hidden inside devastating moments
  • Embrace your essence while quieting your ego
  • Remove the plank from your own eye before focusing on the speck in others
  • Get excited for your transformation
  • Do whatever it takes to create the life you desire

When I reflect on the last 15 years, the changes in nutrition, pharmaceuticals, supplements, mindset, education, relationships, and sacrifices, I truly believe that because of The Classroom, I am alive today with meaningful purpose. I am beyond grateful!

Living with purpose doesn’t mean having every step mapped out; it means choosing alignment over confusion and intention over obligation.
