Happy Sunday!

I still feel honored to have interviewed Dr. Gary Chapman, author of The 5 Love Languages.  The Secret to Love That Lasts…  What a wonderful man!  Click Here to listen to the show.  He was as genuine off the air, as he was on the air.

Dr. Chapman has a test you can take to discover your love language. As you may have guessed, Robert and I took the test.  Click Here to take the test.

We were surprised at how much our love language has changed from the first time we took the test.  We spent much of the night discussing our love languages and how to fill our “love tank.”  A great way to love your spouse is to speak their love language. I want to encourage you to take the test, even if you have taken it before.

With love in the air, I feel it is time to share something I do not believe I have ever shared before.  While being married to Robert, I have had a relationship with another man.  I am grateful that Robert is understanding about this relationship and the fact that he is not jealous, keeps our marriage strong.

I have loved another man for quite some time… 29 years to be exact.  He makes it so easy to love him as he has a brilliant mind, is kind and very generous.   Whenever he enters a room, all who greet him know how great he is.

I remember the first time I met him.  He stood tall, was intimidating and remained professional. At some point in our relationship, he became a mentor and a friend.    Even now, when we are together, our conversations are stimulating.  We always look forward to our time together.

The place where he lives has a happy hour every night. We always sneak in to have a glass of wine and dance for a bit.  I love him more today than the first time I laid eyes on him.

Each time we kiss each other good-bye, I wonder if I will ever see him again. So, I give him an extra squeeze and I go back to my home.

Yes, I have a boyfriend and I hope you will not judge me that I love this man.  I believe it is time I share him with you.

Celebrating Dr. McKey’s 99th birthday at The Country Club of Orlando. Still loves his fried foods and me.

His name is Dr. John McKey!  Dr. McKey has been truly instrumental in my life.  He was my children’s pediatrician.  He kept me calm as I raised my kids. Because of him, I knew that if one of the kids coughed up a lung, Dr. McKey would reassure me that they still had another lung to spare.

He was the Chief of Staff at Orange Memorial, now Orlando Regional Medical Center.  An avid golfer, Dr. McKey would beat them all and still, when he enters The Country Club of Orlando, where he has been a member since 1948, they rise to greet him.

When Dr. McKey retired at the tender age of 82, I threw the biggest appreciation surprise party EVER!  All 400 of us attending had the same love and admiration for this amazing man.

Friday, July 22nd, was his 99th birthday. When I entered the county club, there he was surrounded by 10 other golfers, all laughing at the memories they shared.

Dr. & Mrs. McKey, would always make the time to meet with us. Here I am with my two youngest, Brittney & Blake, in 2004.

Dr. & Mrs. McKey, would always make the time to meet and share a meal. Here I am with my two youngest, Brittney & Blake, in 2004.

When I was a young mom, he was there for me calming me through every cold, chickenpox, divorce, getting remarried and the teenage years.  Dr. & Mrs. McKey were at my daughter’s wedding almost 7 years ago but had to leave because Mrs. McKey was ill.

Now, I am there for him, to calm him when he misses Mrs. McKey and listen when he is sad that he no longer can choose where he lives.

Yes, I have a boyfriend and oh, how I love that man…  Can you blame me?
