Week of 5/15/23, on The Lillian McDermott Radio Show/Classroom!

Happy Sunday!

On May 5, 2023, Robert decided to give me the surprise of a lifetime. He not only surprised me for my 60^th Birthday, he also planned much, much more. He actually planned this party with the help of our daughters Ashley and Brittney and my dear friend Julie! AMAZING!!!

To say that I have fallen in love with Robert all over again is not doing my feelings justice. For him to create such a loving, spectacular, fun night, has confirmed, once again, that he is an incredible man!

Here are some pictures to show you what happened… I apologize for all the pictures in advance!

Robert, our daughters, and my dear friend Julie, along with their elves, did a phenomenal job with the decorations!

And there is Julie carefully creating her masterpieces!

While the gang was preparing for the party, Robert and I took a picture together. (The only picture for the night, I thought.:-)

This was the start of the surprises planned for the evening!

Loved being with our children, Blake, Ashley, Brittney and their families. (Blake thought he was posing “El Tigre”)

Just in case you do not know the reference of “El Tigre,” “Blue Steel,” or “Magnum….” Blake nailed it!

Quickly things escalated to more than I ever imagined…

Ashley handed me a bouquet, and then I heard Robert say, “Lillian, will you marry me… again?”

I said, Yes! Blake was ready… He said, “hold on to me mommy!”

There he was, our handsome son, escorting me down the aisle, with our daughters behind us. I am beyond joyful!

From 60th Birthday Surprise… to a renewal of vows! Mi Hermana Julie was the officiant!

I got to kiss my groom!

Then, we had our first dance… After our renewal of vows!

Then our children joined our dance…

Then as usual… Bryan made us all laugh!

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING!

Today is my official birthday and the 12^th Anniversary of The Classroom. But most importantly, it is Mother’s Day!

This is such a special day because I am the only gift my mom did not return… Thank God I was not born with a tag. 😉

I will say this… the love a mother has for their child is unbreakable, strong, and enduring. I am grateful to be able to celebrate another Mother’s Day with my mom.

For those of you who have lost your mom, write her a love letter. Then read it out loud. No worries…Your mommy will hear it!

As I have mentioned many times, it does not matter if a child is born in your heart or in your womb… that tiny little soul will fill your life with sorrow and gladness. Release any heaviness as it takes too much room. Make extra room and fill every nook and cranny with those precious memories until your heart rejoices uncontrollably. The only love that can supersede a mother’s love is the love of God!

When I state, “This classroom has saved me,” I am being completely truthful! Although aging has taken its natural toll, sometimes I cannot recognize the woman I was 10 years ago. On this day, I will share my greatest awakening moments in the classroom.
