This is Thanksgiving week and all over the nation people are saying “Thank YOU” for all our blessings, gifts, and lessons. Not everyone will have a family to visit, a meal to eat or a roof over their head. What is our responsibility? How can we help make someone’s life better, even if only for a moment?
This week’s shows are all about contribution and giving back… Often, the quickest way to lift our spirit is by doing something kind for someone else. This week we will hear from people who have done just that. These people discovered a need in the community and found a way to make a difference. They are doing whatever it takes to be of service and the side effect of their generosity is gratitude and abundant joy. Perhaps, you will want to help some of my guests in their mission!
We are working towards improving our website and the shows are being posted daily! There have been multiple requests to turn shows into podcasts and we are looking into that too. If you missed listening to any of last week’s shows, they are now updated… Click Here to listen and let’s continue to Grow Together!
It is a new week and here is what’s happening on
The Lillian McDermott Radio Show.
Monday, 11-24-14 – 9 am to 10 am ~ Have you been to the Cocoa Village Playhouse lately? I go any chance I get! We just took our granddaughter to see Shrek, the Musical and as usual, it was PHENOMENAL!!! Community Theater only happens because of the generosity of very talented people and they work day and night bring joy to all who attend their performance… Some of the cast will share why they are so dedicated to Community Theater!
Tuesday, 11-25-14 – 9 am to 10 am ~ It’s the 4th Tuesday of the month and as usual Dr. David Baker-Hargrove is back. We will be discussing what the next 30 days of our 90 Day Challenge to Self Love will look like. This challenge is absolutely free and, at the end of the 90 days, we hope you will feel Empowered to love yourself and live the life of your dreams!
Wednesday, 11-26-14 – 9 am to 10 am ~ Meals of Hope has given hundreds of volunteer-minded individuals a way to make a positive impact by bringing food packing events to their local churches, schools, associations and clubs and service organizations. They are tackling a serious problem while having some serious fun. Also, the Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) is helping those in need by providing grants. Each year, they honor local women leaders who, through their leadership styles, are an inspiration to all women seeking to make a difference through philanthropy and civic engagement.
Thursday, 11-27-14 – 9 am to 10 am ~ On this Thanksgiving Day we will Turn Lemons into Lemon Meringue Pie (without the calories!) I am bringing back some of my special teachers who have taught us how to face our trials with grace. You too will be inspired as we learn how difficult times can lead to greatness when we focus outside ourselves. (Previously aired on 5-5-14) May this day be filled with love, laughter and great nutritious food… Happy Thanksgiving!
Friday, 11-28-14 – 9 am to 10 am ~ Few things make us feel better than doing random acts of kindness. Not only do we feel better, the person experiencing the kindness and anyone who witnesses the kindness feels better too. Charley Johnson is the president of the Pay It Forward Experience and his passion is not to change the world, but to make it a better place. As we continue our 90 Day Challenge to Self Love, let’s add random acts of kindness to our daily walk and experience anxiety and depression going away! (Previously aired 11-6-14)
