Happy Sunday!

Yesterday I had the privilege of visiting with my parents.

How sweet it is to love someone without any expectations. This is the beauty of dementia.

Don’t get me wrong, dementia is not pretty. But there are many gifts and lessons that can come out of our trials.

As I sit with my mom and my dad (my dad’s memory is failing him too), I can recall times when I expected them to be perfect parents. Now, I just love gratefully sitting with them, talking, and playing games. And I do not expect anything in return.

Whenever I give a gift to my mom, she will unwrap the bag 10 to 20 times. Her joy each time she opens the gift is so contagious. Each time she exclaims, “you got me this?!!” I even get 9 to 19 extra kisses.

I know many of us have our crosses to bare, but when you look at the sweet side of “no expectations,” it makes the hard times a bit more tolerable.

Is there something in your life that is causing you resistance or pain? Look beyond the pain and view whatever you are going through with gratitude and it will allow you to see life on the sweet side.

Here are some important events happening in The Classroom that will help with creating change in your life:
